Title: The Sticking Place
Warnings: None
Character(s): Sirius Black, Remus Lupin
Pairing(s): Sirius Black/Remus Lupin
Rating: T
Notes: Set, I think, somewhere in the MWPP well before the tragedy at Godric’s Hollow. The quote at the beginning, and thus the title, is from Shakespeare's Macbeth.
Summary: In the end, saying the words is easier than you thought.

It’s easy enough, in the end. )

Title: Anything At All
Rating: G
Archive Warning: No Archive Warnings Apply
Category: M/M
Characters: Sirius Black, Remus Lupin
Relationship: Sirius Black/Remus Lupin
Notes: This can, arguably, sit in either the MWPP time period or during Sirius’ period of incarceration in Grimmauld Place; for me, I think, it sits in the former. It’s flangst, or fluffy angst, which I hope will make sense to you once you’ve read it.
Summary: ‘You can tell me anything. You know that, don’t you?’

Anything At All )

Title: Unspoken
Rating: G
Archive Warning: No Archive Warnings Apply
Category: M/M
Characters: Sirius Black, Remus Lupin
Relationship: Sirius Black/Remus Lupin
Notes: Set in the same universe as Hope And Glory, this drabble tells of the early days of Remus’ and Sirius’ new relationship.
Summary: It doesn’t matter that you haven’t yet managed to verbalise what you feel.

Everything’s still brand-new between you. )

Title: Hope And Glory
Rating: G
Archive Warning: No Archive Warnings Apply
Category: M/M
Relationship: Sirius Black/Remus Lupin
Notes: Set somewhere between the Marauders’ Hogwarts days and the tragedy at Godric’s Hollow, with Remus and Sirius both a part of the Order of the Phoenix, this drabble tells of the slow but important changes taking place in their relationship as they gravitate towards each other.
Summary: It’s a gradual thing.

It’s slow to happen, when it does, with no particular point where you stop being just friends and become something more; it’s a gradual thing.

You find you grow closer to each other as time passes; each narrow escape, each brush with death, binds one to the other in ways no-one else understands.  And after a while, you stop trying to explain.

Always close, you become inseparable; it happens almost without either of you noticing.  You’re a couple in every way long before you acknowledge the fact and, from that point, your becoming lovers is a mere matter of time.

Title: The Domino Effect
Rating: T
Setting: Prisoner of Azkaban
Character(s): Remus Lupin, Sirius Black (mentioned), Peter Pettigrew (mentioned)
Pairing(s): Remus Lupin/Sirius Black
Notes: This explores Remus’ year teaching at Hogwarts. Most of the focus is on Remus’ relationship with Sirius and his [Remus’] inability to be completely convinced that Sirius is guilty of the crimes of which the Ministry (and the Wizarding world at large) accuse him. And when a supposedly long-dead Peter Pettigrew appears on the Marauders’ Map ...
Disclaimer: Characters you recognise belong to J. K. Rowling.
Summary: You never were a true believer in the official line.

<A domino effect, or chain reaction, is the cumulative effect produced when one event sets off a chain of similar events. )

Title: The Tipping Point
Character(s)/POV: Remus Lupin, Sirius Black. Mentions of James Potter and Peter Pettigrew.
Pairing: Remus Lupin/Sirius Black
Rating: T
Notes: This is set during MWPP's Hogwarts years, just before Moony discovers his friends' work to become Animagi.
Timeline: MWPP Hogwarts Years
Disclaimer: Characters, etc., you recognise belong to J. K. Rowling.
Summary: Remus has had enough.

The tipping point is where a series of small changes or incidents becomes significant enough to cause a larger, more important, change. )

Title: More Indelible Than Ink
Character(s)/POV: Sirius Black
Pairing: Sirius Black/Remus Lupin
Rating: 15
Beta: [livejournal.com profile] glory_jean; all remaining mistakes are my own.
Notes: My headcanon for Sirius is that Grimmauld Place almost achieves what even Azkaban couldn't do: drive Sirius insane. I am minded to think that he knew it was happening, and that he almost let it; that he stayed in that house for Harry (and only Harry), and that Remus was, by the end, the one thing keeping him sane. The title and summary come from a quote by Anita Loos.
Timeline: Order of the Phoenix, in the main. References events from earlier books.
Disclaimer: Characters you recognise belong to J. K. Rowling.
Summary: Memory is more indelible than ink.

Some days, Sirius thinks, he’s going mad )

Don't worry, I'm not about to start going on about Game of Thrones, other to say that I've never seen the show and I can't get into reading the books because constant changes of POV characters get on my nerves.

Voted in the Labour Party's current Leadership Contest today, later than planned because my sense of time and space is squiffy as usual; but it's done, now, and I don't have to worry about it any more.  Did some grocery shopping, as I was running out of pasta and breakfast food, once the sky decided to stop chucking rain at the ground; ate both breakfast and lunch at something approaching a "normal" time today, which is better than usual for me, although I am yet to eat my main meal and it's late for that already.

Finally managed to wrestle back control of my main e-mail account (only three e-mails to action, which is aeons better than it was at the top of the week) and hope to manage the same for my secondary one either this evening or tomorrow.

Job-seeking stuff needs to happen again soon, including updating record logs, and I've a load of job adverts I need to sift through to find ones I can realistically apply for.

And then there is fandom; I got the latest version of my current Wolfstar fic back from beta today and plan to go through it at some point this weekend.  I also plan to at least start working on a Casmund fic I have been turning over in my head, although that one might need some work on outlining first.

And winter is, indeed, coming: today, complete with a tonne of rain, is roughly a ten-degree drop temperature-wise from yesterday and it looks as if summer's journey is done for the year.  The Holly King has been gaining power since Midsummer, and at the Equinox next week he'll start to gain traction over the Oak King and we'll start the long trek towards his victory at Midwinter.

Don't you just hate it when there's a story in your head waiting in your head to be told and yet your brain won't co-operate with your fingers and let you write them?  I've two people yammering in my head but nothing seems to happen.

Perhaps I need to spend a few hours in a coffee shop with a notepad and just write?  That's how I got the first draft of A New Beginning, and the first draft of a piece that's with my beta at the moment.  I've had worse ideas, and it isn't as if I have much to do right now.

clovenbuttercup: (Casmund)

I've been neck-deep in fandom for at least the past week (and probably longer), drowning myself in both a new 'ship (from the Narnia 'verse) and in the one (from the Harry Potter 'verse) that owns my soul.

Every time I'm having a bad time of it, I tend to disappear into fandom as a distraction from whatever's going on in my head, and i stay there until I can cope with reality again.

This stint's going to be a long one, I think.
